I have several favorite characters in the books AND the movies

1.Faramir:At first I had issues with the way he was portrait in the movies.Especially after the scene in the theatrical version. The added scenes in the Extended Edition made more sense even though they still bugged me.David Wenham does a spot on job playing him though.I love the book character. He was the first character that I really fell in love with.I love his gentle nature and that he sticks by his principles even though they leave him on his father's bad side.
2.Pippin:By far my favorite hobbit.I love his sense of humor and the fact that he sticks by his friends no matter what.Plus he shows a great deal of courage in the last movie.Billy Boyd does an incredible job playing him.
3.Eowyn of Rohan:She is my favorite female character.I love her courage and sense of loyalty.
4.Aragorn:He is my other favorite male character.

Ditto to the comments about Faramir and Eowyn but my favourite Hobbit and ultimately my favourite character in both books and film was Merry. I love the way Dom Monaghan portrayed him in the film.

Dovecam ~ welcome to the boards so why Legolas? Was it the archery skills or just his general graceful fighting skills. He does make it look effortless and a bit like a dance.
