The conservative and liberal élites have been portraying Bush's war on terrorism as a sort of crusade of good against evil. They have even tried to enlist John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892–1973) – author of the "Book of the Century," The Lord of the Rings for this endeavor. In their view, the coalition led by the United States is like the "league of the free" who fight against Sauron of Mordor – that is, bin Laden of Afghanistan.

Britain's biggest video rental chain is refusing to stock a string of hit films because of a cash row.
Blockbuster is in dispute with Warner Bros after the movie giant changed its pricing structure.
The chain has already boycotted Training Day, the cop thriller starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.
They will also be unable to rent forthcoming releases including Mel Gibson's Vietnam epic We Were Soldiers and the award-winning Mexican film Y Tu Mama Tambien.

Well we all know about the big swords which you can purchase. However, these are rather expensive for the casual buyer. To resolve this United Cutlery are making small miniature versions of each sword. The following one is not one of the Lord of the Rings models. As you will have noticed we have plenty of gaming footage downloads but not much in the Gaming section itself. This will be changing shortly. Lots to be added to the PC/Console section including previews of all the games on each format, release schedule and screenshots.
For a taster look who is coming up on The Fellowship of the Ring game for the PC. I wonder who that could be.....:-)
The Tabletop section will also be getting its first battle scenario. Ugluks Stand has been converted from the report in the Armoury into a general set of rules for fighting the battle. We hope to make more specific scenario's too. Starting with one for Warhammer Fantasy Battle.

The Fellowship of the Ring has now surpassed The Lion King in the top grossing movies of all time in the USA. Though one wonders how much this really means given that most of these lists do not adjust for inflation. If it was tickets sold rather than actual revenue then they might be more meaningful.

Good news for all UK Tolkien fans. The extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring has been passed by the BBFC with the same PG certificate it had during the cinema release.
Problem could have arisen if the extended footage warranted a higher rating. Since in UK law a film cannot have a different rating for its DVD/video release.

Two Towers' structure (16 levels based on the 'most memorable movie moments from the first two films') and gameplay look most likely to appeal to gamers who loved the movie, rather than to LOTR universe purists.
