Hobbits Hair Gets Snipped -- Posted by Fatty on Friday, August 30 2002 at 4:48 PM GMT
Well this really raised my eyebrows. Not only was Dominic in Glasgow recently, he also went down to Paisley for a hair cut. The weirdest thing is Scott is the same person who cuts my own hair and my wife's!
So there you go he cuts more than one hobbits hair. Three if you include yours truly ;-) Needless to say I shall be querying Scott next time that I venture into get my messy moptop cut. :-)
Read more below.
A MOVIE star visited Paisley for the first time yesterday - to have his hair cut.
Dominic Monaghan, who stars in the Lord of the Rings movies, came to town to have his hair done by award-winning stylist Scott Cooper.
The 25-year-old actor, who stars as the hobbit Merry in the movies, had just jetted in from his home in Los Angeles.
Scots star Billy Boyd - who plays fellow hobbit Pippin - had recommended Scott.
So when Dominic was in Glasgow visiting pals including the stars of the hit TV show Chewin’ the Fat - he called the YF salon in Wellmeadow Street for an appointment.
The salon was closed to the public yesterday and Scott and his assistant Eileen Davison cut and coloured the movie star’s hair.
And he was so thrilled with the cut - which Scott described ...........more

Bilbo's Last Poem to be Published -- Posted by Fatty on Monday, August 26 2002 at 6:23 PM GMT
IT is the poem that signals the end of JRR Tolkien's association with his greatest creation, the mythical land of Middle Earth.
Now Bilbo's Last Song, a short poem marking the end of the famous Hobbit's adventures, is to be published to cash in on the new wave of interest in The Lord of the Rings.
The poem, illustrated by Pauline Baynes - who is also known for illustrating the Narnia Chronicles of CS Lewis - is best known for having adorned the walls of Tolkien fans in the form of a poster in the 1970s.
Now, following the commercial and critical success of Peter Jackson's Oscar-winning film of The Fellowship of the Ring, the first book in Tolkien's trilogy, it is being re-published in book form.
European Premiere in Paris -- Posted by Fatty on Monday, August 26 2002 at 5:39 PM GMT
Well it has been confirmed. The European premiere of The Two Towers will be in Le Grand Rex theatre on the 10th December. Reservations start on the 10th Nivember in the theatre.
Thanks to the guys at Elbakin.com for the confirmation.
We do wonder at Paris as a choice. It is great for French Lord of the Rings Fans. But being that France was the European country where the film was least popular and where Tolkien is least read. Maybe somewhere like Sweden would have been a fairer, if less commercially sound choice.
Oh and before you run off to get your tickets, remeber folks we assume the film will be in French. So worth bearing in mind. :-)
The Fellowship of the Ring Gallery Special -- Posted by Fatty on Monday, August 26 2002 at 3:30 AM GMT
We have just opened a new gallery of The Fellowship. It is categorized by DVD chapter, usually we do not do this, but it was requested. The original gallery had over 4800 images, but after some negotiation with New Line Cinema whohad contacted us, we have reduced it to about a fifth of its original size or maybe less.
However, it is still an amzing gallery. All images are full-size, original aspect, trimmed of border, saved at max quality. Some are really amazing, Balrog etc.
