Some fellow chatmates have decided that this Saturday would be a great day to bring the WarRingers to the chatroom. I have been sent a new newsletter, called Laqat. It takes the news from most of the main Lord of the Rings sites and send you once a day. Worth a look if you do not have time to check them all out each day.

Here is a much better photo of those Applause figures which surfaced a while back. Of most interest is the Warg, reminds me of one of those hyena type pre-historic beasts. Is it my imagination or are they hoofed as well?

Now a few sites have been speculating on what is being used to breach the walls of Helm's Deep. We thought we would draw it all together with a look at the books too.
The Fire of Orthanc was used with great effect during the Battle of Helms Deep. It was utilised by Saruman's forces to blow a hole in the Deeping Wall as well as destroying the main gate in the Hornburg.
Tolkien never describes the Fire of Orthanc to a degree that any serious inferences .........more

EA GAMES is excited to announce that The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers (for PlayStation 2) has officially GONE GOLD and has moved up the North American release date. Shipping will now begin on Monday, October 21, 2002.
This means the final version of the game has been shipped to the manufacturer.
They have also released the great video we reported last week in streaming format from their site. Check it out here.
